Digital technologies for Enhanced Bone and Soft Tissue Regeneration: Where Are we in 2026?

Digital Technologies for Enhanced Bone and Soft Tissue Regeneration: Where are we in 2026?

In the presence of edentulous sites associated with hard and soft tissue deficits,

regeneration procedures are mandatory to optimize aesthetic and functional

outcomes of implant-supported restorations.

Digital technologies (DTs), which have had a relevant impact on several fields of

dentistry, have been applied only recently in advanced implant dentistry.

Aim of this lecture is to show how DTs have significantly improved and simplified

planning and treatment of patients in need of implant-supported restorations but

presenting with various degrees of bone and soft tissue defects in the edentulous

areas.

Different clinical scenarios will be presented underlining the advantages of DTs in

the planning and treatment of these clinical situations, following the principle of

Digitally and Prosthetically Guided Regeneration.

At the end of the presentation, a clinical case will be shared with the audience, to

stimulate an interactive discussion as regards planning and treatment solutions.

Learning Objectives

• How to properly plan bone/soft tissue regeneration according to the principle of

Digitally and Prosthetically Guided Regeneration

• How to choose, among the different surgical options, the most appropriate one

• How to optimize the management of soft tissues when a bone regeneration

procedure is necessary
